I Sold Insurance — And Lost Respect for It. I sold insurance. I compared policies for a living. And I still got treated like the enemy when I needed it most. That sentence isn't here to attack an industry. It's here because it's true — and because the people who need to hear it most are the agency owners and brokers who want to do better. I've been inside the insurance business. I've done the comparisons. Accident and Sickness policies with fine print engineered to find reasons not to pay. Travel and medical coverage that evaporates the moment you actually need it. I watched it happen to clients. I watched it happen to me. In 1988, Great West Life took a full year to pay a hospital bill for an appendix. Blue Cross paid a food poisoning claim immediately, without question. Same industry. Completely different standard.
